Top Toys 2025: Get Holiday Ready with an Inside Look at the Must Have Gifts This Year

Monkey Fish Toy's Laura and Mike Wallace share their picks for the holiday season

1) Airtubes

Airtubes - “These were very popular last year and they very hot again this year,” says Laura.

The building set features an air blower that blows air through the tubes. Kids can adjust how hard the air is blowing to push the balls through the tubes. “It’s really fun,” says Laura. “You can set it up to shoot out at the end,” adds Mike.  “Or at your sibling,” finishes Laura.

2) Blind boxes

Blind boxes - With blind boxes, you never know what you are going to get. “That’s the fun,” says Laura. Several collectible lines are embracing the surprise feature. Sunny Angels and Smiskis have been particularly popular, especially with high school and college-age girls.

3) Sensory Art & Hey Clay

“These, I think, are really cool,” says Laura. “They are new. It’s called Sensory Art. It’s air-dry clay. You are kind of painting with clay, which I think is really neat for kids.”

Hey Clay is also very popular. The kit comes with all the clay but also has an app to walk you through exactly how to make the figures shown on the boxes.

“I love the products that are engaging and help kids create,” says Laura.

4) Cate & Levi

“It has everything you need to make the puppets,” says Laura of the puppets whose bodies will be made from recycled sweaters.

“We strive to have a unique variety and to bring in products like that from smaller companies. That are great products,” she adds.

5) Brooder Trucks

“Brooder trucks are very popular,” says Laura. “They’re cool. Who wouldn’t want a UPS truck with a fork lift on back?” adds Mike.

6) Zip strings

“Zip strings are new. The string comes up out and dances and you can do tricks with it,” says Mike

“It’s a lot of fun. We have a lot of fun,” adds Laura.

7) Beauty Kiosk from Doug and Melissa

“Beauty Kiosk is a new Melissa and Doug product that is going to be very popular,” says Laura. “The vending Machine was very popular, and it’s going to be popular again this year.”

“It’s fun because you can put things in here, and select what you want like a vending machine. You can even put real snacks in there if you want,” she adds.

8) PlayTab

“This is an interchangeable system. You buy the board, then you can choose the little tabs you want to put on the board, and you can swap them out. This is for 12 months and up. This is perfect in the car, on the go, when they’re sitting in the high chair, and you can just keep it new.”

9) Grab Its

“Grab Its are new this year. These have become popular,” says Laura. “They are designed for babies who are just learning to grab, can grab it,” says Laura. Bonus, it’s dishwasher safe.

“They don’t trap water. They’re easy to care for and easy for baby to play with.”

10) Makedo

“That’s another unique product,” says Laura. The kid-safe toolset makes it easy for kids to create with cardboard.  “They have a website with a lot of projects,” adds Mike. And bonus, since all the projects use cardboard, there is no need to buy expensive refill kits.

“We’re just trying to facilitate a lot of doing and creativity with kids,” says Laura.
