It was just about a year ago today that I made the transition from sending a MailChimp email to a legit newsletter. There are a lot of technical, behind-the-scenes details that go into that distinction, but the big one is that an email is just meant to be pushed out from the sender. A newsletter, on the other hand, is built up by its subscribers.
